Spring 2022 Schedule
Happy New Year 2022! Please mark your calendars for our four splendid speakers scheduled for the semester of talks, on the second Thursday of every month:
- February 10: David Ledesma, Fossil reptiles and amphibians from the ice age
- March 10: Sam Smith, What to expect when you are an animal expecting
- April 14: Whitney Behr, Plant identification for everybody
- May 12: Carly Scott, Coral Bleaching: An On-Again-Off-Again Relationship
Science Under the Stars is a free public outreach lecture series in Austin, Texas. Events are held outdoors at Brackenridge Field Laboratory, 2907 Lake Austin Blvd, Austin, Texas 78703. Due to the pandemic we may change to a virtual venue to keep our attendees and organizers safe, depending on advice from our epidemiologist colleagues. Please keep an eye on the specific event announcements to determine if they will be held in person or on zoom!

Science Under The Stars

Thank you for this information. Super excited to see that these will be held again in person starting in February, understanding that it is an evolving situation based on COVID.
We held the same program that you held as Science Under the Stars as Neighborhood Science at our Howson Branch of Austin Public Library on the last Tuesday of every month. Anne Chambers was my fabulous contact for this monthly program here at Howson and we had a good attendance. I have been staying in touch with her over the last two years (since it has been that long since we have had something in person at our branch!), but I am wondering whether she has moved on from UT or would she still be my contact? Please let me know.
We are planning for programming for this Spring and same as your organization, hoping to hold in person programs soon!
